Nancy Atherton West is a fine artist living in the beautiful village of Olde Carlsbad in north San Diego County, California.  Nancy grew up in Southern California, then moved to the Bay Area to attend Stanford University where she earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering. She always loved to draw and design so this was a fitting and practical degree!
Nancy remained in Northern California until 2014 when she returned to the southland and her beloved beaches. In her works you will see Plein Air pieces from all over Northern California and a variety of still life subjects.
She has studied with a number of wonderful artists she admires greatly, including David Cheifetz, Will Maller, Brigitte Curt, Paul Kratter, Joe Anna Arnett, and Bill Davidson.  She treats every painting as an opportunity to learn and grow in her craft and delights in the reactions to her paintings by those who view them
