June 25 – Mission San Luis Rey – 4050 Mission Ave. Oceanside – It’s been almost a year since our group met up at the mission to paint. There are many views to paint including the mission, the rose garden and the cemetery. While there are trees and shady spots available, it may be helpful to have your umbrella handy. Parking is ample and free and there are restrooms available.
The Beyond Borders plein air exhibit at the Bonita Museum opens with a paint out on June 7 and reception June 8. Many of our painters have pieces in the show. There is a large Alfred Mitchell on display from a private collection that is worth a trip on its own. The Fine Art Exhibit at the Fair also opens this month and there is a one day plein air competition June 22. In addition, the Paint San Clemente plein air festival is this month June 15-22. I believe registrations for both events are still open. Be inspired and get out and paint.
