Growing up in Chicago and going to parochial schools, old English lettering and scroll borders were my initial art experiences.  Frequent visits to the Art Institute of Chicago ignited my love of fine art and the desire to be able to be an artist one day.

My initial hands-art education began in San Diego at Mesa College; followed by Adult Ed classes in Escondido and Palomar College.  Since 2008, I have painted regularly and studied with many fine teachers including: P. Hester and R. A. Marks (both assisted Spanish Master Sebastian Capella), H. S. Garcia, P. Ryker, and Leon Okun, a Russian Master.  In recent years, I have studied weekly with Richard Stergulz painting both in the studio and plein aire.   Studying painting and art is my life-long adventure.

Oil is my preferred medium.  Aspiring to be a fine artist, I study technical aspects and strive for the free expression of the emotions I wish to convey.  The passion to paint urges me onward.  My preferred subjects are nature and people.  Pet portraits (aka Pawtraits) are my specialty.  Clients say my work captures the spirit and essence of their beloved pets.

Pat has exhibited her work throughout North County and San Diego.
