Deborah Buffington

Oil, Acrylic, Pastel and Fired Enameled Copper

Deborah Buffington finds continuous  inspiration in nature.  Having a BA degree in Biology and MS degree in Geoscience, she paints impressionistic oil, acrylic and pastel paintings of a variety of landscapes and seascapes.  She also enjoys painting children or animals in motion in addition to flowers, rocks, water and clouds. She has been painting and entering competitions since 1979, winning many awards. Deborah’s paintings strive to take the viewer on a mental vacation to a favorite location or a treasured memory of a special person or animal or event.   Her paintings are found in collections across the US and Europe.  She took impressionist painting classes from Mattie Robnett Kenney in Arlington, TX and Suzanne French Luker in Occoquan, VA.  She has been a member of the Artist Undertaking Gallery in Occoquan, VA and Gallery West in Alexandria, VA for 25 years before moving to San Diego, CA and joining the Off Track Gallery.  In addition to painting, Deborah started doing copper enameling in 1995 having taken enameling classes from Pat Peat O’Neill in Washington, DC and Rick Schneider in San Diego, CA and participated in the Lawrence River Canada Enamel Workshop and Touchstone Center for Crafts workshops in Farmington, PA.  She welcomes commissions.
