Bert Cross

Watercolors

Bertram (Bert) J. Cross grew up in New York State and now resides in Oceanside, California. He is a graduate of Kent State University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in architecture. He has been practicing architecture for more than 45 years.

Mr. Cross’ background as an architect has aided him in a technical style that he uses to create watercolor paintings of extreme realism not often associated with that medium. It is this style that has become his trademark.

Bert Cross has been a member of the North East Watercolor Society and the New Mexico Watercolor Society. His work has been included in numerous exhibits. Bert’s painting “Blanket” was honored with the Don Selcow Memorial Award in a regional watercolor competition sponsored by the North East Watercolor Society. He was also honored with the John Pike Memorial Award for his painting “Nyack Widow.” His painting “Solitude” won an award in the New Mexico Masterworks competition.
