Laurel is a Native California surfer girl, and has been an Artist since she can remember. She received a fine Art degree, then proceeded to Design and Paint professionally, creating Murals, Faux finishing, as well as exhibiting her fine art in multiple exhibits and juried Art shows, where she continues to receive awards. Motivating her decisions has always been a passion for traveling, surfing, and she often paints on location in tropical locations around the world, as well as in locally in beautiful San Diego as she reflects the beauty she is blessed to be surrounded by. Her work can be seen at Off Track Galley in Encinitas and COAL gallery in Carlsbad.
Laurel loves teaching art and believes each person has innate creativity within, and she finds great joy in helping bring that out. She teaches painting classes through San Diego State San Marcos adult extension, as well as private individuals and small group classes with the emphasis on technique as well as ‘seeing and feeling’ what you are painting, her mottos being ‘practice makes better!’.
Laurel is blessed with 2 children, 4 Beautiful Grand Babies all 3 years old and under and is called “Tutu” Hawaiian for grandma. She actively Surfs, dances Hula and enjoys Ballroom Dancing with her husband. They live on a golf course near the beach in Oceanside CA.
